This document sets out the approach our Partnership will be taking during 2008-11 to achieve our aim of being the healthiest major city in England. It underpins the Sheffield City Strategy, providing more detail on how the Strategy’s Inclusive Healthy Communities theme, and the accompanying targets in the Sheffield First Agreement, will be delivered.

The JSNA provides an overview of the health and well-being of Sheffield’s population and how these will change over the next 5-10 years.  More importantly, it states what needs to happen to make sure we continue to achieve improvements into the future.
 
 
The report published by the Council in November 2008, highlights the role of local authorities in improving public health.
 
The Shaping Healthy Communities report is based on the Council’s work with partners across the Yorkshire and Humber Region, and demonstrates how this kind of partnership work can improve standards of public well-being. 
 
 
This strategy begins to identify, and set out responses to, those issues that are important to an ageing population.
