Creative Sheffield
Creative Sheffield is the city economic development company which was set up to spearhead our efforts to transform the economic performance of Sheffield. It will seek to deliver higher levels of economic growth and enhance the competitiveness of the city.
Creative Sheffield’s approach to significantly improving Sheffield’s economic performance will be through the preparation of an ‘Economic Masterplan’ for the city. This will provide a framework for the economic and physical development of Sheffield over the next 10-15 years. Activity will be focussed on enhancing inward investment, developing the city’s physical infrastructure, accelerating the growth of knowledge-based businesses and strategic city marketing.
In April 2007, it became the single economic lead for the city integrating the functions of Sheffield First for Investment, Sheffield One and the Cultural Industries Quarter Agency.
Creative Sheffield will be accountable to Sheffield First Partnership, its funders and it will be open to scrutiny through the Council’s overview and scrutiny system.
Creative Sheffield has been established as a company limited by guarantee with a high-level board comprising a mix of private and public sector representatives. See Board Member page for more details.
