Safer Communities Partnership
This partnership is responsible for improving community safety and reducing crime across the city and was set up as a result of The Crime and Disorder Act 1998, which introduced local partnerships to address issues of crime and disorder. The primary responsibility is to reduce and deliver a Crime Reduction Strategy specifically for Sheffield (this is downloadable below).
The Partnership aims to create stronger, safer communities by:
• Reducing crime and disorder
• Tackling anti-social behaviour
• Tackling problems caused by substance misuse
• Ensuring people feel safe and have confidence in the criminal justice system
