He has worked in a variety of roles both in branches and Head Office before joining John Lewis Sheffield as Managing Director in July 2005. John Lewis Sheffield employs around 600 people and in 2007 John Lewis, or Cole Brothers as it was before 1940, celebrated 160 years of trading in the City. During his time in Sheffield, Mark has been a Board Director for Sheffield One (Urban Regeneration Company) and has chaired 2 Chamber of Commerce committees - City Centre Retailers and City Business Group. John MothersoleJohn Mothersole is the Interim Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, stepping up from his previous role as Executive Director of Development, Environment and Leisure. John joined Sheffield City Council in 1998 and since then has been directly and closely involved in much of the regeneration of the City Centre. His remit has also covered the City’s green heritage, the sustainability agenda, transport, culture and planning. Prior to coming to Sheffield he was a Director with the London Borough of Camden for seven years, and before that was the Arts Development Officer for Newcastle Upon Tyne. In his current role, John is Deputy Chair of the Sheffield First Partnership, Company Secretary to Creative Sheffield and a member of the Sheffield City Region Executive Group. Clare BonsonPartnership Director for Sheffield Learning and Skills Council Nick WilsonNick’s career in Further Education (FE) started with a number of teaching and management roles in colleges. Nick became an advisor to the Hospitality Training Foundation on the development of National Occupational Standards/NVQs and worked as an External Verifier for City & Guilds. Nick then moved from the FE sector to carry out a number of roles including, Chief Verifier for City & Guilds Hospitality programmes and Inspector with Ofsted and the Adult Learning Inspectorate. He then joined the Learning and Skills Council’s (LSC) National Contracts Service (now the National Employer Service) in March 2004 as an Operations Director, then moved to join the South West regional team as the Director of Skills Strategy in July 2006. Nick was appointed as Director of Area for the LSC in South Yorkshire in February 2008. Nick holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Professional Diploma in Management.
