SFE Communications Working Group

The Communications group is chaired by Fergus Beesley, a Sheffield First Environment Partnership board member and Executive Director of Groundwork Sheffield. The aim of this working group is to develop and drive the strategic climate change communication programme for Sheffield with the purpose of achieving a behavioural shift towards more low-carbon lifestyles and activity across Sheffield.

The responsibility of Sheffield First Environment partnership is to direct the campaign and successfully engage key partners and stakeholders of Sheffield First Partnership through the voluntary, community and faith sector networks. The Council is the main delivery partner for the programme, with responsibility for the website, the social marketing and commissioning key initiatives such as the Climate Change Community Champions project, the Sheffield Ecobusiness Programme, the Sheffield Ecoschools Programme and the Climate Change Leadership Project.

Sheffield Is My Planet is the portal for all environment-related activities - visit this site to make your promise to reduce carbon. Newsflash - we have now passed the 100 tonnes promise mark!! You can follow the campaign on Twitter or Facebook.

The Sheffield Is My Planet communication programme supports the global 10:10 campaign for a 10% reduction in carbon emissions. Key partners who have already signed up to the 10% carbon reduction pledge include Natural England, Sheffield City Council and the Environment Agency.
